Ernst integrates ALTA Title Data into Closing Fee Search Engine
Among the news items that came out of this year's American Land Title Association's annual convention was the story of ALTA's Title & Settlement Agent Registry data getting integrated into Ernst’s Settlement Agent Gateway.
The ALTA Registry is a searchable online database of underwriter-confirmed title agent companies, real estate attorneys, and underwriter direct offices, and the ALTA ID has become an industry standard method for lenders to confirm the identity of their settlement industry partners.
Ernst, a company I've been proud to represent on the PR side for a number of years, has been the leading provider of technology and closing cost data for the real estate and home finance industries for the past 29 years.
Thanks to the new integration, title agents that work with Ernst will now be able to effortlessly share their settlement fees along with their ALTA-issued ID with lenders and integration partners.
The move is expected to mitigate fraud risk for lenders and make it easier for title agents to build their businesses.
As Gregory E. Teal, President and CEO of Ernst Publishing, said in the press release: “Because the data ALTA collects is confirmed by title underwriters, the ALTA ID has become a critical piece of data that our customers use to verify the identity of their partners."
